Let's get this party started!

Okay, to kick off this new venture, we head to the Chavez Revine. I recently read this article by Jerry Crasnick of ESPN. It's about Nomar's switch to the Dodgers, but more importantly to first base. It had 2 great quotes I had to comment on:

"As a young baseball rat in California, Garciaparra played every position on the field, so he gained a healthy respect for all nine. The difference is, he's no longer 12 years old, and the Dodgers don't pile into a van and head to McDonald's after the game. "
Maybe the Dodgers would be better if they piled into a van and went out after the game. However, Jerry, it's "Hot eats, cool treats!" DQ, man, DQ! You have to go to Dairy Queen after the game or at least a win. Of course, last year, piling in the van would have been tricky with resident hot head, Milton Bradley and "Mr. I'll never get an award from the Urban League" Jeff Kent on the team.

"People don't realize when you're playing at the highest level, no position is easy,'' Garciaparra said. "Just to say, 'You're an athlete and you can play this position or that position,' maybe that held true when you were in high school or Little League. But it doesn't hold true here.''
True!
Of course, if Nomar doesn't get it together at first, he be able to fill in as the team's trainer seeing as how he's spending as much time in getting treatment as Jose Vidro, Tony Armas Jr. and JD Drew.

On deck, Adam Eaton and Kris Benson.
