Techies, you're good at math, 6+1=?

UGA continues instate dominance with 7th straight win.

Honestly, it wasn't the prettiest win, certainly it lacked the magic of whipping the Gators or blacking-out Auburn, but when the scoreboard says 31-17 in favor of the Dogs, you have to be happy. I'll try to keep this one short, but that's not exactly my strong suit.
What it boils down to is that we didn't play our best, but we made enough plays on offense and defense and caught some breaks to beat a Tech team that was fired up. Were there some questionable calls? Yes. Did we escape disaster on botched punt returns and a fumbled lateral that almost went for a TD? Yes. But the Dogs did plenty to help Tech out and they couldn't capitalize and Georgia did.

OFFENSE: B+
Tech brought pressure and loaded the box to try and stop Knowshon, which they did, fortunately, Thomas Brown had a banner day and wrecked Tech for 139 yards. Stafford and his receivers were out of sync at times, but he found MoMass most of the day and made some sweet passes to Sean Bailey and he also busted out the wheels for a 31 yard scamper that totally fooled the Jackets.

DEFENSE: A-
Tashard Choice got his yards- both as a RB and as a QB, but the Dogs defense made just enough stops to keep Choice from being the difference-maker. Despite giving Taylor Bennett enough time to launch more than a few air-biscuits (evoking Steve Grogan a la SuperTechmo), they sacked him 5 times and knocked him out of the game for a while. The Dogs also had 2 picks were solid on 3rd down.

SPECIAL TEAMS: D
As alluded to Mikey Henderson had a botched punt return that almost cost us 7 points. Coutu was injured which led to Andy Bailey assuming kicking duties; he seized the opportunity with a "doink" on a PAT. Kickoff teams displayed their usual crappiness.

COACHING: B-
We seemed a little flat at the start and Richt even admitted that the Tenn-Kentucky game was a distraction to him and some of the players, but the coaches dialed up enough plays to win the game.

OVERALL: B-
The crazy thing is that this team has shown flashes of what it could be and maybe I got spoiled by that. I expect us to build on that and at times we do, but we still are prone to 3-and-outs, dropped balls, errant passes, poor blocking and bad coverages (not to even get into the kickoff game). When we eliminate those mistakes, we will roll teams like Tech and avenge losses to fat men who wear orange.
