There's no place like home

The Braves are posting a robust 22-7 home record- only trailing the Redsox and Cubs in that category. On there last home stand, Atlanta registered an 8-3 record against Oakland, Arizona and New York. Two of those three are near the top of their division and the other was supposed to contend. But something happened once the Braves left The Ted...

They lost 5 of the next 6 on the road. And they continued their dismal record in 1-run games by dropping 4 of those 5 by one run. What is all adds up to is the worst record in the majors on the road, 7-21. The Braves just cant figure out how to win on the road. The either get behind and rally, but fall short, or blow leads late in the game. It is somewhat of a Jekyl and Hyde situation to go from one of the most dominating teams at home to one of the futile teams away. What is even worse is that on this away trip is that Tim Hudson, Matt Diaz, Mark Kotsay and Blaine Boyer left with injuries- depleting an already maligned roster. You could argue that the Braves should just go ahead and forfeit the rest of their away games and rest their ailing staff for their home games, but of course, that would never happen. So we are stuck with the frustrating, if not bipolar Braves.
